Why we started it
If you need a roofer in Temecula today, your options are a search engine full of paid ads from companies three counties away, or a coupon site running national chain offers that expired last year. Neither one tells you whether the person showing up at your house is licensed.
Coastline Post is the boring alternative. A small number of local businesses, each one looked up in the state license database before they run, with a coupon that has a real date on it.
What we check
Before a business appears as vetted, we pull their record from the California State License Board and confirm the license is active and in the classification they actually claim. We record the bond and workers' compensation status, and we print the license number so you can check our work — CSLB's lookup is public and takes about ten seconds.
We are not an inspector and we are not a guarantee. We verify what is verifiable in the public record, and we say plainly which listings we have checked and which we have not.
Claimed and unclaimed listings
Listings marked unclaimed are compiled from public records so the directory is useful from day one. They carry factual information only — name, trade, city, phone, license number — and no endorsement from us. If it is your business, you can claim it, correct it, or ask us to remove it.
How we make money
Businesses pay for a spot in the printed mailer, which includes the vetted listing and coupons here. Readers pay nothing, and we do not sell reader data. We hold one advertiser per trade per issue, which is the whole reason the list stays short enough to be worth reading.
